Meet Dr. Udy Ikpe-Welch, an exceptional psychologist known for her high-quality work. As a formally trained clinical forensic psychologist, she has strong interests in family custody matters, personal injury/infliction of emotional distress, pre-employment/fitness for duty evaluations, and other consultative and training services. In therapy, Dr. Ikpe utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs.. She enjoys working with older children, adolescents, and adults, providing a blend of therapy and evaluation services based on each individual’s needs.
Before venturing into private practice, Udy devoted many years to providing mental health services to youth and adults within the justice system, amassing significant experience and expertise in the field and rising to leadership roles in other organizations.
Her impressive journey into the realm of psychology started with a B.A. in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University, followed by an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Udy earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on clinical forensic psychology from Nova Southeastern University and went on to obtain a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Miami. Afterward, she completed her internship at the University of Tennessee at Memphis, Health Sciences Center, and a postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at StarCare Specialty Health System in Lubbock, Texas.
Dr. Ikpe currently holds psychology licenses in Tennessee, Louisiana, Florida, and Kansas, reinforcing her commitment to reaching and aiding those in need across these states.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Udy enjoys exploring various forms of art and culture. She loves walking her dogs while listening to podcasts, cooking, singing, golf, visiting art museums and galleries, and attending sporting events. Her favorite music includes hits from OutKast, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Earth, Wind, and Fire, along with all the female greats! Udy enjoys a range of TV shows and movies like “You,” “Succession,” “Schitt’s Creek,” “Queens Gambit,” “Peaky Blinders,” “Insecure,” “Goodfellas,” “Shawshank Redemption,” “Clueless,” “Coming to America,” and “Legends of the Fall.”
