Korab Idrizi, Ph.D.
Korab Idrizi, Ph.D., is passionate about helping people better understand themselves, build more honest relationships, and move toward lives that feel both meaningful and effective. He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at Boston College, earned his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University, completed his doctoral training in Counseling Psychology at Tennessee State University, and completed his predoctoral internship at Florida International University Counseling and Psychological Services.
Dr. Idrizi works with clients ages 12 and up navigating anxiety, relationship concerns, men’s issues, grief, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, existential concerns, sports or performance-related challenges, and other presenting concerns.
Dr. Idrizi’s clinical style is psycho-dynamically oriented and deeply relational. He believes that much of therapy involves helping people understand the patterns they have developed over time, especially the ones that once helped them survive but may no longer be serving them. At the same time, his work is practical and outcome-focused. He integrates aspects of existential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing to help clients take action and move toward the kind of life they want to build.
A former Division I football player at Boston College, Dr. Idrizi brings a personal understanding of performance, pressure, identity, discipline, injury, transition, and the complex emotional world of high-achieving people. This background informs his work with athletes, creators, executives, and others who are trying to perform at a high level while still experiencing joy.
Dr. Idrizi also has previous experience in forensic psychology and psychological assessment, including work in inpatient forensic settings and university counseling centers. During his predoctoral internship at Florida International University Counseling and Psychological Services, he provided individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, assessment, outreach, and consultation to a diverse university population.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Idrizi is deeply interested in outreach, public speaking, and community engagement. He enjoys bringing psychological ideas outside of the therapy room in ways that are useful, accessible, and relevant to real life. He has spoken on topics related to performance, masculinity, mental health, grief, relationships, identity, and leadership, and he values opportunities to connect with schools, athletic programs, organizations, and community groups.
Outside of work, Dr. Idrizi loves spending time with his wife and daughter. He also enjoys hiking, lifting, running, and occasionally convincing himself that he is still an athlete.
