Elizabeth Marmande

Liz understands that life for a young child who is still learning to communicate, connect, and navigate the world can feel overwhelming, but they do not have to figure it out alone. Liz is a warm and compassionate clinician who is passionate about helping young children build the skills they need to succeed and lead a fulfilling life. She is passionate about helping children build meaningful, functional skills that allow them to access the things they love.

With over 14 years in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, Liz specializes in working with children ages 1-5 with autism, ADHD, and other developmental differences, while also having experience working with children up to age 10. She focuses on building communication, social, and adaptive skills. Liz finds joy in helping children communicate their wants and needs while building the tools to navigate challenges with confidence. She is passionate about advocating for her learners and modifying the environment when needed to better suit their needs. Daily life brings challenges…denials, transitions, waiting, changes, and demands. Liz helps children build the skills they need to navigate these moments with greater regulation and independence. She takes a trauma-informed approach, recognizing that regulation must come before learning. Her approach takes into account each learner’s unique needs, strengths, preferences, and personality.  She believes using a relationship-based and neurodiversity affirming approach is crucial.

At the heart of Liz’s work is her philosophy: play with purpose. She believes that some of the most meaningful learning happens through laughter, connection, and fun! By using evidence-based ABA strategies such as breaking skills down into manageable steps, using prompts thoughtfully, and reinforcing success, Liz helps children learn in ways that feel natural, fun, and motivating. Her sessions are often filled with smiles, movement, and joy, because she knows that kids learn best when they are truly engaged. Liz stays up to date with the latest research and uses developmentally appropriate assessments and strategies tailored to each learner.

Behavior is communication. When a child becomes dysregulated, Liz looks beyond the behavior to understand what the child is trying to express. From there, she helps build the tools children need to communicate their wants and needs more effectively, leading to greater independence and a more meaningful, connected life. She works to build confidence, resilience, and coping strategies to support regulation and effective communication across environments.

Liz is deeply committed to working alongside parents and caregivers, providing them with practical tools, guidance, and support so they feel confident helping their child grow and succeed beyond sessions. She loves working alongside other teammates like RBTs, teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists. She values strong relationships and believes that collaboration is key to lasting progress.

She brings the joy, creativity, and energy of her hometown, New Orleans, into every session. Her favorite thing is making kids laugh, and she loves getting kids smiling and engaged because when learning is fun, meaningful progress follows.
